“Request a quote” instead of a price, and a “no longer available” state that keeps the page for SEO and suggests a successor.

Products without a price, or products that were discontinued, should not show an Add to Cart button. Availability hides the price and the cart button for the stock statuses you choose and offers a quote request or a successor product instead.

What it does

• You decide which stock statuses mean “price on request” and which mean “discontinued”.
• “Request a quote” opens the contact form pre-filled with the product name in the subject.
• A discontinued product keeps its page – and its search ranking – and suggests a successor product.
• Enforced on the server too: the product cannot be added to the cart even if someone bypasses the button.
